Abstract: Research on building Fires with zone modeling method is presented. The concerned ordinary differential equation set is given. Due to its stiffness, C. W. Gear's stiffly stable algorithm is used to solve the equation set, The related fire sub-models are studied and discussed, and the whole model is fully programmed to predict multi-room building fires. The numerical results are in good agreement with a set of experimental data. Additionally, the characteristics of zone modeling are discussed.
