Abstract: Crystalline samples of alpha -Titanium hydrophosphate (abbreviated as alpha -TiP) were prepared by hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD, IR, HREM and TG-DSC. There is a high crystallinity with an interlayer distance of 0.763 nm and hexagonal flakes in alpha -TiP. Meanwhile, it is shown that the alpha -TiP Posse ses a high thermal stability. In this paper, the experimental conditions for preparing alpha -Tip by hydrothermal synthesis were systematically investigated. The results indicate that the optimum experimental condition for hydrothermal method is at 180 degreesC for 6 hours in 5M-10M phosphoric acid concentration.
