Abstract: There is amass of serious fire hazard in subway station and smoke is one of the primary factors causing casualty. An improved engineering method is presented to evaluate fire smoke hazard in subway station with subspace division. A typical case is simulated using this model and it is illustrated that a multiple criterion of critical time of smoke hazard can be determined. The influences of some fire protection facilities against smoke hazard are also discussed and it is noticeable that applicability of them need depend on the results of smoke hazard evaluation on account of the characteristics of a certain station.
